Patching Source Tuts?

Hi,

I wanted to patch Squirrelmail 1.4.3a. I downloaded the patch but, I'm not sure what to do with it.

it starts off with this...

diff -urN functions/mime.php functions/mime.php

but, executing it fails.

I know that there is also a utility called 'patch'.

Does anyone know of a tutorial that breaks down how to use 'diff' or 'patch'

Thanks,

Typically what you do is place the patch file in the top level of the package you are patching, then do a:
Code:
# patch -p1 <patchname.patch
You should get output like "patching blah.file" etc
