Parse XML in bash script

I know if I search hard enough on google I'd find something but I was hoping someone had a quick answer to this.

I'm creating a shell script to populate id3 tags on a pod cast. The title, url/filename, and info is in a rss/xml file. I want to extract specific fields an loop through them.

Whats the easiest way to do this in a bash script.

Also I'm trying to say away from perl and php. (Which I know I could do it in)

Thanks.
