output of dsniff \ *sniff

hey guys ... i know this is a "evil" question, lol, but if you guys could help me it would be great. See , im from the world of microcrap, and after using linux for 2 years, i still have gotten by without learning the pipe symbol. However, i fear that time has ended. Because, when i try to run , say for instance, urlsnarf, all it does is sit there, with no output. i read somewhere that i might need to include a pipe symbol and post the output to a file. How exactly would i do that ? especially on a live CD distro like knoppix ? also, if anyone is familiar with ettercap, how do you find the password dump files that it creates ?
