Open the VLC instance with a shortcut?

Heya everyone.
On settings>Custom shortcuts (KDE) i set a shortcut with the command "vlc". When i press the button, VLC opens. But if VLC is already open, the button does nothing. I want to open the actual instance. With other programs it works fine, what can i do?
(I disabled "multiple instances".)

Linux KDE Neon 64 bit.

Have you unchecked "Allow only one instance" and "Use only one instance when started from file manager" in VLC interface?

I don't want to open another instance. I want to open the instance that is on tray.

So kinda like clicking on the program in the taskbar in windows?
I'm a gnome guy but found this, hope it helps
