one more dual boot questions

had xp running and wanted to get into linux. put mandrake on w/o a hitch. easer to install than xp is =+)

now, when i try and boot and click on windows it gives me a blinking cursor.
i have tried to fix it by booting from the cd and reparing but to no avail. i've reinstalled linux and no help their either. even tried using grub and it gave me the following error:

boot (hd0,0)
filesystem type unknown
partition type 0x7
chainloader +1

one hd installed and it's partioned.

sorry for the repeat question but after searching and trying all other known cures i'm still a little stuck.

It sounds like you installed Linux into the MBR (Master Boot Record). Look here for some help.
