# Configuration file for nvidia-settings - the NVIDIA X Server Settings utility

I just now looked at what I cut/pasted above. I can't see anything that obviously indicates my brightness/contrast setting changes. My guess would be that those changes might actually show up elsewhere - xorg.conf perhaps. I CAN see my XV saturation change however...
Just so happens that I've got one on this box now. I got a new monitor today, and the contrast, brightness, and color are bad. It will be returned Monday, but here's the ~/.nvidia-settings-rc file after changing many settings:
Why don't you just use "nvidia-settings" app and click on "Reset to Defaults" button?
My nvidia-settings program was seg-faulting upon startup (an error in the gui), and so the settings wouldn't apply. But if you ran it with the -l flag (no gui), then the settings would apply properly. But I needed an rc file because I didn't have one (one gets autogenerated the first time the nvidia-settings gui runs successfully). Anyway, the bug was reported to nvidia and they have released a patch here.
