I receive the following message when I update via the Command Line from a 4 hundred and something Nvida Driver to the newest five-ten, I recall: pk-client-error-quark: error while installing package. installed amdgpu-dkms package. post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status10(323)
I have played most of the day trying different methods to brighten my suddenly dim screen, to no avail. It is a Ubuntu 20.04/Nvida issue because the damned Windows 10 that came on this Gamer is perfectly bright. I pray out LORD will cause the right person to notice this, I puke using windoze. Thank you in advance and may the LORD bless your children with ten grandbabies each.

I'm still shooting blanks and being a 77 year old former tech for old folks at church and still know there is no replacement for data.
Most people don't actually need NVidia's proprietary drivers. What are your reasons for installing them?
What's your hardware? inxi -SMGayz input/output would be nice to see, if you run sudo inxi -U first (or have run it recently). It isn't terribly common to see both AMD (amdgpu or radeon driver) and NVidia (nouveau, nvidia and/or modesetting driver) GPUs in the same PC. Without knowing your hardware, seeing indications of both seems a bit of a red flag.

After sudo autoremove I can no longer boot, not even with DVD for fresh install. Either the AMD-GPU or the MB chips have failed. I will try to purchase a Restored Off Lease Unit today because prices have gone crazy.
