Unhappy (((( No Sound from GMplayer ))))

Hi guys,

I have just finished installing GMplayer. The video works nice, no problem.

But I cannot get any sound from the GMplayer.

I use "Debian"/Sarge and Gnome. Actually, the environment sound system in

Gnome works well (e.g. the sound when I click or from some error message).

Also, I can use the program called "CD player" to play CDs and I can listen to

music without any problem.

Please someone suggets me how to deal with this problem ?

I don't khow where or how to set in the GMplayer about to the the audio works.

Just forgot, for the "Totem" and the command-line ("mplayer"), they cannot play

sound neither, only the video works.

Thank you in advance,

Alez.

Ahem, patience! We're thinking...LOL
I use Etch and had same problem with totem.
Follow this:
Menu=>System tools=>Synaptic Paskage Manager
Search "totem"
Deselect "totem-gstreamer"
Select "totem-xine"
Install that
Logout, login, enjoy!

Thanks a lot, SlackerLX

Actually I have "totem-xine" installed, not "totem gstreamer". When I launch it to play a DVD, the screen was too bright and no sound.

For the Mplayer, I found that, I have to turn off the environment sound system of Gnome, and now MPlayer can play my DVD without any problem.

I'm just wondering that, Mplayer cannot detect Alsa driver even I have installed it. It found only OSS and something.

BTW, thank you for your suggestion again

Alez...

P.S. Love you motto so much Hahahahahaha

Talking

Even though my recommendation wasn't much of a assistance, I'm still happy that you've solved the annoyance
