Question no sound


i run slack based L

sb awe 64 - no sound
i check rc.modules -
and uncomment line with support for the sb
no result
i check /var/log/messages -
Pnp Sound Card Found!

when xmms started there is message - "your card is configured properly, no other program is blocking the soundcard" ... and No sound whatsoever... ??

You want the sbawe module for that card.

Hum that seems weird it is still in the kernel tree perhaps Slack does not build it.

BTW why, now that I notice it, is the - there in the /sbin/modprobe -sbawe is that some kind of Slackware thing in Debian there is no - when modprobing.

locate sbawe:

/lib/modules/2.6.12/kernel/sound/isa/sb/snd-sbawe.ko
/lib/modules/2.4.29/kernel/sound/isa/sb/snd-sbawe.o.gz

i check lsmod - there is modules "sb" - unused...

please configure your sound card through the motherbord cd.

there is sound when i run xine to watch a movie
something is blocking winamp...

i answer my own question....

it is output plugin of winamp ... it was alsa.. but i removed it ... only causing problems
