Question No access to SD card of Android phone!

Hi there

I'm not sure what's the right forum section to post this issue, hope it's fine here.

I'm having an issue with my phone's external SD card not being detected when connecting via USB ... Samsung A71.
It DOES detect the phone's internal storage, which I found odd, normally there's more restrictions on a device's internal.
When I connect the phone via USB, the phone's usb connectiion options pop up and yes, "tranfer files" is selected.
In the past I was always able to access the external SD ... but I'm wondering if it's a linux issue/restriction?
I'm using Dolphin browser ...

I gave up on Linux MTP, etc, for to access my Android phones (mostly Samsung, currently the A51).

I now use KDEConnect. Once it's given the right phone permissions, KDEConnect works flawlessly. Plus I get all my desktop notifications forwarded to my phone. So if you're using KDE, perhaps give that a try.

In my experience you may need to switch the 'transfer files' option at a specific time, maybe before or maybe after trying to mount the phone; I found cases where the phone appears on the linux desktop but doesn't mount properly if attempted in the wrong order...
Then it also may be the way your Android proceeds with the SD card, there are many options and some buried deep... But on this I cannot help because my phones now are on /e/OS...
