i am having strange problems with configuring my network... i am using on Fedora /etc/modprobe.conf
and /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 and ifcfg-eth1

are there any other scripts/files i should be aware of? where the system keeps MAC address?

thnx

i have problem with the wireless device occupying eth0 and regular network card using eth1
sometimes i can swap them but sometimes not - and i cannot see the pattern
there must be some other files apart from the two mentioned above...

Hmm, odd, I usually delete the hardcode hardware address. Its not required.

If its somewhere else you might have to do a grep -R in /etc for part of the address string.
