as you see they are not the same, i recently installed "kernel-source-2.4.21-0.30mdk"
from the updates but it seems im using 2.4.21-0.13mdk.
How do i change it to 2.4.21-0.30mdk so i can run "./make.sh" so i can install the ati drivers correclty?
I guess you have two choices: upgrade the kernel or downgrade the source. Just make sure the version numbers match. If you update the source, it does not mean that your running kernel is affected.
As you already know how to install packages, just do the same again with the other package.
The command 'uname -r' gives you the version of the running (installed) kernel.
'rpm -q kernel-source' shows you that the package called 'kernel-source' is installed (leave away the '-source' and it may show you the installed kernel too).
Where did you get the kernel source from? Sorry, I am not familiar with Mandrake.
Maye the kernel-package is named different (like in Suse it is often k_<version>).
What I suggest is: got to a mandrake download site, search for the kernel source with the version number that uname -r shows you and install it. I don't know how the 'real' mandrake way is. Do you have a kind of setup tool?
yes, i just go to configure pannel, under packaging and select install software, it makes a list of available packages to download. Thats what i did and i selected to install 2.4.21-0.30mdk
automaticaly. very much like a windows update.

[root@a81-84-57-58 build_mod]# ./make.sh

Error:

instead of "2.4.21-0.13mdk".
you might need to adjust your symlinks:
- /usr/include
- /usr/src/linux
this is what i did to try and install the ati drivers, before this it said that i didnt have a kernel or something like that , thats what made me install the kernel source from the updates.
So you need to update the kernel. Can't you just select the kernel package? When the source is 0.30, I guess the kernel is that too. You make yourself clear that the source is not the kernel, so there must be another package for the kernel binary. And I don't know how this is called in Mandrake ...
Its there. The kernel binary shows up before the source does. I usuall search rpmdrake and find what I want: put in kernel in the search box. You know that if its possible, it'll be done...
i've upgrade my kernel as u said but i got the folowing msge:
[root@17924882 setlec]# cd /lib/modules/fglrx/build_mod
[root@17924882 build_mod]# sh make.sh
