Need Linux based program to monitor remote servers

Hi Guys,

About six months ago(when I was stil young and dumb ) I had a Windoze workstation at the office.I used a program to monitor the status of remote servers. It was "Servers Alive".

Now that I'm all grownup and wise, I have a Linux workstation.
Tried to install SAlive using wine. Instalation is successful, but when I run the program, it takes 10min to actually start.
Then if I want to add a server to monitor, it hangs.

Does anyone know of a similar program that I can use.

Thanx in advance.

no idea what this thing actually does, so can't say what's a replacement, but nagios might be a good startnig point for a small implementation. getting larger, try zenoss or groundwork maybe. these are more monitoring systems than desktop widgets, which i've seen around too...
