Need Knoppix 5.1
I am looking for a download ISO for Knoppix 5.1; I don't like the later versions. I use it to pull data off corrupted operating systems/partitions, but I can't find my CD anywhere. Someone must have borrowed it, etc. I have tried this URL but all the links are dead:
http://iso.linuxquestions.org/knoppi...5.1.1/#live-cd
Does anyone know where I can download a copy?
Thanks!

That's nearly 8 years old! I'd be very surprised if you found anyone who still has it. If you just need something to rescue data, I'd recommend SystemRescueCD — I wouldn't be without it myself:

hehehe
Went to distrowatch and then to old news for knoppix. Took exact name of iso and did search for that name.
I was kind of shocked to find my go to mirrors only had 7.x. Even my second tier go to's were of no use.
Think I have a 5.x and 3.4 still someplace for emergencies.

@Jefro and DAvidMcCann...... thanks guys, I appreciate the help. Unfortunately, both those ISOs when burned and loaded, gave me the same error message: "sorry, can't find file system, terminating..."
To test I just now booted Hirens Boot CD, Reatogo Boot Disk, Knoppix 7.2.0 and UBCD 5.2. on my Windows Ultimate machine, so I can't see how it could be my computer. Thanks anyway, I guess I will have to learn to live without them. Too bad, sysrescu CD looked really interesting as it started loading. Darn. Thanks again.

Two different ISO's, two different distros, two different download locations (probably) ... same error message? I would suspect you may be having burning issues with your optical drive. Try burning using a different drive, different blank media, slower burn speed, etc. Also, check your downloaded iso's against the MD5 signatures that are provided.

SystemRescueCD, despite the name, is quite happy on a USB stick. Of course, your computers may not be happy booting from a USB stick ...

Something going on, agree with haertig. Use high quality CD-R, use slowest speeds when burning. Test md5 before burning.
Some cd-r drives suck. Knoppix has a boot time cheat sheet for that. I think it is noatapi. Can just try failsafe too.

Ranchhand
are you trying to boot a Windows8 / 8.1 machine with the ancient knoppix 5 cd ?
secureboot will balk at that
and knoppix5 is OLDER that the new hardware that windows7 would be on
it will boot on a windows XP sp 0,1 or 2 machine
( but with xp being unsupported ....)
