mythweb and/or apache configuratiom

Distro is Debian lenny

I have installed mythweb from the debian multimedia repository.
The install was without any errors being reported.

I try to start it in the "google chrome" browser using the
url "http://localhost/mythweb/"
What I get is a blank screen.
The apache2 log contains:
Quote:
127.0.0.1 - - [17/Aug/2010:11:56:16 -0400] "GET /mythweb/ HTTP/1.1" 500 20 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US) AppleWebKit/533.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/5.0.375.99 Safari/533.4"
127.0.0.1 - - [17/Aug/2010:11:56:19 -0400] "GET /favicon.ico HTTP/1.1" 404 293 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US) AppleWebKit/533.4 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/5.0.375.99 Safari/533.4"
I have read the mythweb install document, but have been unable to apply what it says to Debian Lenny.

any assistance fixing this would be appreciated.

Gary

Have you tried installing mythtv and mythweb through the debian repositories?

Code:
sudo apt-get install mythtv mythweb
Note: I recommend removing your current source compiled version.

If this is not an option for you then ensure that localhost/mythweb actually points to something. Check and make sure your virtual hosts are setup correctly from within your httpd.conf or if the pages are statically created you can just sym link the mythweb UI to /var/www

Code:
sudo ln -s /pathtomythweb /var/www/mythweb
You may have to chmod permissions for it to be viewable on the web as well.

Mythtv and Mythweb were both installed using the synaptic package manager". The very first entry in "/etc/apt/sources.list is
[deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org lenny main non-free]

httpd.conf is empty; From what you wrote, I believe this may be the problem; but I do not know what to put in it.

/var/www contains
Code:
Debian:/home/gary# ls -l /var/www
total 4
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 45 2009-05-28 23:28 index.html
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 25 2010-08-17 11:12 mythweb -> /usr/share/mythtv/mythweb
Debian:/home/gary#
