Mysterious chimes

About once every hour or so my computer, running OpenSuSE 11.1 and KDE3, issues a four-note chime. Does anyone know what program might be producing the chime? I can find out everything running with ps, of course, but that isn't very helpful for two reasons: many of the programs are things I know nothing about, and I can't see how to determine if a particular program is producing the chimes rather than some other program.

Hello pwabrahams

If it's scheduled there might be a clue in the cron or anachron jobs.

Best
