MySQL replication-Which model

I have 2 mysql servers (1,2) replicating with each other in Master-Master mode, 1 being the primary.

I now have 2 additional mysql servers (3,4)in a different region. These are also replicating with each other in Master-Master mode, 3 being the primary.

I need to replicate 3,4 with 1, 2.

Can someone suggest what model of replication to use. I tried setting up replication between 2 and 3 but this broke the existing replication between 1,2 and 3,4.

Regards

Essentially my question is around multi master-master replication. I just need to know how I can join cluster 1(1,2) to cluster (3,4) without breaking the existing replication in each cluster. I have checked documentation bu it is not very clear to me..
