hi agian,

i am trying to install mysql (on centos). the first step to do following as root:

groupadd mysql
useradd -g mysql mysql

when i do this i get groupadd: command not found
when i do /usr/sbin i still get the same command error.....the weird thing is both commands are listed in sbin. So, why exactly is it not recognizing? Am I missing something?

Yup - that *is* weird.

1. Make sure you're "root"
<= As root, "/usr/sbin" - and "groupadd" - should be in your default path

2. Give an explicit pathname:

/usr/sbin/groupadd mysql

3. If it still doesn't work, please cut-and-paste the exact command you typed and the error you got.
