Unhappy My gnome clock (and more) disapeared

Hi. I am very green at Linux, and have Red Hat Fedora Core 1 installed.

But when I ran up2date last time (I think I managed to configure it so it installs from the "stable" update), I checked off some gnome update, but accidently pressed "yes" when some warning message about the downloaded filesize did not match some check parameter. It installed it, but now my clock, and that red / green redhat network button, and whatever else was next to the clock has dissapeared. (I get error messages about missing files when I log in).

How can I manually find this updated gnome program, download it, and install it?

(I could always wait for the next gnome update, since gnome is not that important to my system, but it would be nice to know how to fix this. I checked the Red Hat manuals , but I did not find anything that helped.)

(Also, I am currious about vnc. Can you see the gnome panel from, say, my windows machine. How would I do this? (I have a vnc server running, and ssh server on my Linux machine)).

Well. Cheers....

might it be possible to run (I haven't used fedora's update system ever) a update/reinstall, so that it would re-get the needed file(s) and reinstall them to fix the problem?

Hi,

I had have the same problem too. I fixed it with just downloading and installing the gnome-panel.

Seems to me up2date needs an update
