Smile Mutt and Pine Folders conflict

I have been using Mutt for my non work email. Its going fine.

Since adding a new account to Mutt appeared to be quite a work for me Newbie, I thought of using an altogether different application for work email. And also wanted to explore Alpine as someone told me its more user friendly than Mutt.

I configured my work gmail with Alpine. Things went well but looks like the mail folder is locked by Mutt. Alpine is unable to use local mail folder.

Has anyone seen this issue before. Is there a way to specify different mail folder for Pine ?

Thanks in advance

I just looked at the /etc/pine.conf that comes with Slackware. It appears that it is possible to specify a custom inbox.

Here's the relevant lines:

Code:
# Path of (local or remote) INBOX, e.g. ={mail.somewhere.edu}inbox
# Normal Unix default is the local INBOX (usually /usr/spool/mail/$USER).
inbox-path=
Here's an article about configuring pine for Gmail: https://www.cs.virginia.edu/~csadmin...for_IMAP_Gmail

Well locking is a thing almost always and everywhere. AFAIK it's not confined to Operating Systems or applications...
