museekd fails to search

Hi,

I am using mucous version 0.8.0 along with museekd (of museek-0.0.040714-2).
It connects to slsknet.org server, I can join rooms, can chat with buddies, but cannot search.
When I press F4 it takes me to the search panel and I type in what I would like to search for, but
displays "Searching for: " - and nothing after it and always gives no results even if wait ten or more minutes.

I checked the communication with a sniffer (ngrep) between mucous and museekd, it seems mucous sends the search request correctly.

mucous -> museekd packet activity when starting a new global search (with keyword britney)
Code:
##
T 127.0.0.1:4797 -> 127.0.0.1:62200 [AP]
  ................britney
#
T 127.0.0.1:62200 -> 127.0.0.1:4797 [AP]
  ............#..6
#
the only thing in museekd log which is related to the search
Code:
[museekd.IC.DBG] got search request
museekd -> slsknet.org packet activity after having received the request from mucous
Code:
T 192.168.0.1:4786 -> 208.76.170.50:2240 [AP]
  .... ...
##
T 192.168.0.1:4786 -> 208.76.170.50:2240 [AP]
  ........'..6....
##
This is always the same, doesn't depend on what I search for. The search loses on museekd which doesn't send a correct request to the soulseek server. Only the character on the ninth place (now ') changes like { ',', ')', '&', '%', ... }.

Since the version mentioned is about four years old, I tried to upgrade to the latest version, Museek+ (0.1.13) but got the following error message:

Code:
Checking for inflate(0, Z_FINISH) in C++ library z... no
Please install ZLIB and point scons at it. If problem persists, erase the system.h file, and try again.
I don't know which package represents C++ ZLIB on debian sarge, installed all zlibs, deleted system.h but still the same above.

Thanks in advance
stringZ

P.S.: I'm behind a nat, the ports are forwarded correctly to my machine.

Now I spent hours to install middle versions of Museek+, 0.1.8, 0.1.9, etc. They have installed properly without errors but museekd couldn't start, it did a Segfault. Then tried even older versions, 0.1.3, 0.1.2, they did the same. If anyone knows an ncurses/console SoulSeek client I'd be interested in that too.
