MPlayer Video Problem

i recently updated my mplayer and codecs from the mplayer site. i compiled it from source. before when i would try to play a MOV file i would get video but no audio. now when i play the same file i get audio, but no video. i tried opening the file from root and this happened (except that bar covered everything on the top of the screen before i moved my mouse up there).

i think it may have something do to with my video card, but im not sure how to fix it. can anyone help me? im using a voodoo card.

A shot in the dark....
try playing around with the video settings in the mplayer's preferences (try xv,x11..etc).
what about other players? for example xine ?

the only other one that i have is real player and it works fine.

the mplayer readme says i may have to update X11R6 to a new version. Im trying to copy the folder somewhere else to make a backup of it before i do the update, but it wont copy and i get this.

[root@localhost adam]# cp /usr/X11R6 /home/adam/X11R6
cp: omitting directory `/usr/X11R6'
