Mplayer: The Legacy

Im working on isntalling Mplayer onto my redhat 9.0 box. im getting an error.

Basically it's a "Error: X11 support required for GUI compilation"

Ive run across google for a while with no luck in my direction (the redhat 9.0 direction). and mplayers english doc is down at the moment so im not having alot of luck figuring out what whacky package im missing. Anyone know off hand? Thanks guys!

the X11 header files are missing in your linuxbox. install them using rh9 cd's. install all items under "X11 Development " (as far as i remember).

that'll be XFree86-devel-4.3.0.i686.rpm or similar.
