what? i dont understand what u said, hehe. And also, is there an other linux u would recommend using? i installed slackware at my moms, but am having a few problems with it.

hi
i have ben using Redhat variants for quite some time, 4 yrs and now i am onto FC2
i haven't faced MANY problems here

also i know that suse and slackware are good distros, so pl. look for the help on thse linux distos in their forums also,
also what if u face more problems on other linux to whcih u migrate???

well im new to linux, so im trying out some stuff, but this is really pissing me off not being able to configure. its a problem with cc i think, i dunno

hehe thanks, well i hope i can this fixed, would u have any idea y at my moms house, when i type startx in slackware, i get some erros suck as mouse not found or crap like that. i have tryed plenty of things, and now when i start the pc, it forces a check on the drives, then when it promps for root login, my keyboard isnt recognized anymore. This is pissing me off so much, so i cant even login anymore!

hey
u ned to configure ur X server
thre is a distro dependent command(redhat has stopped this)

se if it works for u

#XF86config

or

#Xconfigurator

this will edit the
/etc/X11/XF86Config file where u r asked about the keyboard,mouse,display

so this will set things up for u

also take a backup of the above XF86config file in case something goes wrong
