I am trying to install plugins for Mozilla and they don't seem to show up after I install them. I followed the directions to install the flash plugin and the acrobat plugin and when I go into the Help > About Plugins, they aren't there. What's the deal?
What's the directions you followed? For Flash all you have to do is copy thelibflashplayer.so file to your /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins directory. From there it should just... work.
the libflashplayer.so is in the plugins folder but like I said before, the plugins don't appear in the Help > About Plugins. The directions I followed were provided by the Macromedia webpage.
I have two folders under my /usr/lib one is mozilla the other is mozilla-1.1 Now under the mozilla folder is where the executable file and stuff is and it has a plugins dir as well. In this plugins folder there are three files: flashplayer.xpt, libflashplayer.so, and libnullplugin.so. Now in the mozilla-1.1 folder there are no files just two dir, chrome and plugins. In this particular plugins folder there is only one file plugger.so. I hope this all helps.
