Mozilla does not connect to internet sites

I have a Dell 670 running rh9 and I am using mozilla as a Web Browser , which in this case is a must . I have rpm 1.6.0 for the browser and JAVA is installed too

However when I open Nozilla to browse and open say google's page it can no find the site , or any site .

The pc can ping and see the outside world and it also can be seen by the outside world ( telnet , rsh etc ,all insecure services ) .

Please , let us know where do I have to start looking for a problem ??

it may be your dns.
try typing an ip address into the url of your browser.
see what that does.
are you resolving other network stuff by host name, or by dns?
