Dear friends,

I have a problem with thunderbird. When thunderbird
mail client is open mozilla does not open.

I have not installed firebird browser . I 'am using
mozilla-1.0.1 in redhat 8 and thunderbird 1.0

Thunderbird is upacked at /opt and i have put a
symbolic link ln -s /opt/thunderbird/thunderbird

Both mozilla and Thunderbird works fine if only one is

Once mozilla is opened , Thunderbird can be opened but
the otherway is not possible

Please help me how to solve this problem.

The most straightforward solution would be to switch to firefox in place of the mozilla web browser.

If you wish to amend your current setup, here's a quick tip: moz isn't recognising tb as a whole separate application, it thinks it's another mozilla instance. To get around this, there are certain command-line options associated with mozilla/thunderbird: I would direct you to the output of "mozilla --help" and "thunderbird --help". But just switch to firefox.
