Movie Making

I'm doing a school project. I'm going to make a movie with the background audio being "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel. I need to find a program that will allow me to do this. No live video being imported, just images changing as the music goes.

The program can be for Linux, Windows or OSx86.

I would prefer to do it on linux, because then I can brag about making the video totally on linux

Any ideas?

Sounds like you want a slideshow movie. Digikam has such a feature and also allows a soundtrack. Have not tried it myself but it looks exactly like what you want.
