Is there a way to delete a post?

No, a post cannot be removed, though you can request a moderator to do so.

You can, however, edit your own posts.

In general, LQ frowns on deleting or removing the content from posts without some sort of explanation. I have removed content from a couple of my own, with an explanation (such as "I completely misunderstood/misread the question" when my answer was so wrong that it embarrassed me).

If you have solved the problem that led to the posts, it's requested that you tell the rest of us what you found out, because it might help someone else down the road.

Yes: you should have asked a moderator to move your post to a more suitable forum. You can do that by reporting your own post (see the REPORT button in the lower-right corner of your posts). Please don't remove content from your posts in the future. Thanks.
