mouse keeps going "back" in firefox

i have a alba touchpad on my laptop. when i am moving the mouse sometimes firefox goes back a page, as if the Back button was pressed. but the mouse is nowhere near the back button, and i have not pressed any keys. it is extremely annoying. it doesn't happen with a USB mouse. how can i fix this?
