Question mount damaged ext4 image as read-only without "recovery"

IsoBuster for Windows is able to read ext4 file system backup images created on-the-fly, meaning created using Linux from its own operating system partition while it was running.

However, Linux itself seems to be unable to open a file system image that was created on-the-fly, and requests performing a "recovery" first.

Code:
$ sudo mount -o ro,offset=16384,loop ext4.img  /media/user/mountpoint
EXT4-fs (loop1): INFO: recovery required on readonly filesystem
EXT4-fs (loop1): write access unavailable, cannot proceed
How to mount such an ext4 image as read-only without repair?

Try "-o ro,noload, ..."

Be aware that you may be reading an incomplete, even invalid, representation of the data. Same as isobuster I guess, so you apparently don't care.
