I am probably the last person who should be replying on this topic...
Last night I messed around with ndiswrapper to get my Linksys (Broadcomm) pcmcia adapter to work.
I uninstalled ndiswrapper from my SUSE 10.1 machine and downloaded the latest and greatest version from sourceforge.
After the install I did the ndiswrapper -i <windows .inf file>, and then ndiswrapper -l which showed the driver installed, and the hardware present. Still nothing was working. The modprobe ndiswrapper command was not working either.
I used the guide found
here to figure out the problem - turned out I needed to delete ndiswrapper.ko and THEN follow the guide through to get everything to work.
Hope this helps,
