mod_auth_shadow

Anyone here with experience of mod_auth_shadow in combination with red hat 9 and apache 2???

I keep getting the following error:

Starting httpd: httpd: module "mod_auth_shadow.c" is not compatible with this version of Apache.
Please contact the vendor for the correct version.
