What would you think of...the cellular software isn't built on cellphones (hopefully) so the next guess is that it's buil on computers (pc). And the operating system does not prevent you from developing an application for a cellular, it's just that you'll need to get the needed programs (of which I can't say much).

If you don't know even the software (like I don't either, at the moment), I suggest you get a book covering cellular phone software development, read that through and once you've got the idea of what you're doing, then start wonderhing which tools you need. The worst way of building any application is to pick up an environment you don't know how to work in, then hurry to get some odd software and start hazzling around..

That looks like a good link. Gosh Google is just great isn't it? I searched for "j2me linux".... it was tricky but I managed to pull it off at the last second.

Java 2 mobile edition is one of the major players in cell phone application development. Python I hear can also build cellular apps along with c++. But As mentioned you probably want to go with J2ME as it is probably easier.

Please Tell me more about the Python. Can it be used to develop a platform independent mobile softwares. since i came to know about mobiles that they are having different o.s. as as os differs the IDE has to have a plugins to develop softwares for that specific o.s. suppoted mobile edition. which java makes easy by excluding the platform part out of development.
