Well, this is fun (okay, not so much.) On live chat with comcast because the authentication servers cannot be reached from my home connection. I was able to watch a little of the bos-nyy game on iphone but only in 3G mode. Probably not going to get any testing/coding done until certain mlb.com servers return to comcast island.
He keeps talking about "Higher Fix Agency" which makes me think the problem is spiritual and not technical.
So are you all set now? One other thing, if mplayer still is messed up. Try changing your video_player line to this:
Code:
video_player = totem
I've got everything working great on the laptop, but am still having difficulties with the desktop (which is where I want to watch to enjoy my 47" HD monitor). I switched to totem but with either player I get
I forgot to mention I'm not yet getting audio on the laptop, but I haven't tried dealing with that yet. I can take or leave the audio though because the announcers don't really say much worth listening to. They over-analyse and pontificate too much for my liking.

That messed-up mplayer is the problem. I have no idea why it's still hanging around your system. One thing you can try is recompiling mplayer from svn and making sure you have all the output drivers compiled in. The method I used for doing this is here. Be sure to follow it exactly. Before you start, do 'sudo apt-get --purge remove mplayer'

I don't thinks so - look:
Code:
rob@rob-desktop:~$ /usr/bin/mplayer
bash: /usr/bin/mplayer: No such file or directory
rob@rob-desktop:~$
I had the same exact issue with the laptop and thats working great (except for sound). The funny thing is I've reinstalled mplayer from the repos, but its not showing either.
I'm getting an 'authentication error' now when i try logging in.
Try using stdout.py or soapevent.py in test/ directory and paste the output to pastebin.com.
Use an event-id from mlblistings.py.
MLB has really outdone themselves this year. I logged in and posted to the forum not more than an hour ago. Now the website is saying my authentication is invalid. When I try to reset the password, it says they have no record of my email address in their system.
Funnily enough, I am the original poster in that support thread on the official MLB forums. I'm not on Comcast, but on TimeWarner NYC (which is actually Roadrunner, I suppose).
mlb.com and secure.mlb.com have not worked since opening day afternoon (although I was able to watch a replay of the Red Sox/Yankees game on the morning of opening day).
