Has anyone installed this program? I am having nothing but trouble. I have went into the configure file and given more search paths (Direct Paths) to the Mesa program but when Irun configure it tells me that it can't find it, well more or less I need to install it or Open GL.
Did you read Mindseye's site (docs)?
Is it a Mesa version problem?
Are Mesa's symlinks in /usr/lib correct?
Does it need Mesa-dev rpm installed?
What are the errors? You should always post them. No errors posted means less chance ppl will (be able to) help.

I went to Mesas web site but I could not find any documentation. If you could give me the link to where I can find the info I would appreciate it, unSpawn.
I suggest you first check the Makefile's CFLAGS for the machine var , also I don't think you want to utilize config.cache behaviour while you're making changes and you want changes to be propagated.
Now the main question. Does Mindseye *need* Mesa? because it's
No, wait. Is this really about Mindseye?
Or is it about Nurbs++?
Cuz I get the same err when I do configure and have option --enable-mesagl. W/o this nurbs configure runs and makes fine. I can imagine this failing as well because of NVidia's drivers I had to move some Mesa stuff out of the path.
I will check the CFLAGS for the machine var. I never knew what those CFLAGS where for. Thanks for the info. As for Mindseye needing mesagl, the answer is no. It suggest using the MesaGL library over the OpenGL library and since I had neither I downloaded and installed MesaGL. As for the Nurbs++, Mindseye says I need to have it installed, and configured with the nurbs option.
I have another question. I am having problems with my windbloze system, as for some prgrams not being stable and crashing and disk utilities not working. So what I am thinking about doing is scraping my WIN98 system on my 10 gig hard drive and installing Redhat 6.0, I would install 7.1 but I accidently broke that disk. Then Installing WIN98 on my smaller 4.8 gig hard drive and remove the RedHat 7.1 But my concern is what I am losing going from 7.1 to 6.0.
Now I wouldn't change anything if WIN98 was working, but I might just be bored too. As for keeping WIN98 I am afraid I must, I have several programs writen in Access I need to be able to maintain those until I get them all transfered to Mysql. Plus I have yet to find comparable DJ software for Linux that I have on winbloze. (just incase you wanted to know why I wanted to keep windoze).
Ok, lemme get this clear: you compiled nurbs++ and Mesa, installed them in /usr(/local)/lib or elsewhere in your $PATH w/o problems, ran ldconfig so their location is known, etc etc? If yes, then I'd venture you write the Mindseye author cuz then I don't know it any more..., soz.
Hmm. You should really post new questions not relating to this thread in a new thread, makes it easier for ppl to search if they have similar concerns...
If you downgrade from RH7.x to 6.x you'll lose that much it ain't sensible doing so. Think of all the security fixes the 6.x series have gone tru local, network and securitywise, also it'll be hell upgrading much needed stuff like compiler and libs, *personally* I would choose my 5.2 (still running 2.2.19) over whatever 6.x release any day. If the only reason holding you back is the loss of a cdr, then why not d/l and burn it to disk? That'll or finally converting your Acce$$ stuff to MySQL will definately keep you from being bored :-]
Soz, dunno any DJ stuff for Linux, spose ppl here will know and I'm sure there must be enuff on Freshmeat.net...
