metv + xine

The Debian package manager says that xine1 is a required dependency for metv. xine2 is also offered. In that regard, is xine2 a direct upgrade for xine1 or do I require xine1 instead for metv?

Code:
~$ aptitude show me-tv
Package: me-tv
New: yes
State: not installed
Version: 1.3.7-0.2
Priority: extra
Section: video
Maintainer: Scott Evans <scott@vk7hse.hobby-site.org>
Architecture: amd64

Depends: libatkmm-1.6-1 (>= 2.22.1), libc6 (>= 2.2.5), libdbus-1-3 (>= 1.0.2), libdbus-glib-1-2 (>= 0.78),
         libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1), libgconfmm-2.6-1c2 (>= 2.24.0), libglib2.0-0 (>= 2.12.0), libglibmm-2.4-1c2a
         (>= 2.31.22), libgtk2.0-0 (>= 2.24.0), libgtkmm-2.4-1c2a (>= 1:2.24.0), libsigc++-2.0-0c2a (>=
         2.0.2), libsqlite3-0 (>= 3.5.9), libstdc++6 (>= 4.6), libunique-1.0-0 (>= 1.0.0), libx11-6,
         libxine1 (>= 1.1.8), gconf2 (>= 2.28.1-2), libxine1-x, libxine1-ffmpeg
It appears to want libxine1. There seems to be no conflict between libxine1 and libxine2 so you could install them both if you wish.
