Mepis Live CD Boot

yesterday i downloaded mepis and burnt the image onto a cd. when i restart and put the cd in i don't get the graphical login. i get a command login prompt. Mepis1 Login: i type demo demo or root root. after that i get a command that says demo@tty1[~]$: i tried startkde and startx and i get errors and it goes back to demo@tty1.... how would i get past this. i do have the latest version of mepis.

what kind of errors did you get ?

whats you pc specs ? as it seams that it had a problem with configuring one of your hardware devices

pt 2 300 mhz, 192 megs ram, radeon 700 32mb video, 20 gig hd......

why wouldn't it load startx?

not enough RAM is my only thought. To run MEPIS liveCD, I believe 256 is bare minimum.

Sounds like X is crashing, probably the radeon card.
This will tell you what the error is:
grep EE /var/log/XFree86.0.log
