Mephisto backup (please help me out)

Hello
i am new to Linux and i would like to do a persistent install to my usb drive

Since there is a bug in the original ubuntu 9.04 live cd, i am not able to do this installation to the thumb drive.
Here is the bug and i am being affected by it:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...ux/+bug/350946

I do not have a full installation of ubuntu on my computer and i cant install it due to other issues but i really want to use it without losing my changes

the only way to fix his bug is to do a complete update so that the latest kernel image is installed
you have to also install the pre released updates (in updated manager >settings check prereleased updates)
the only way for me to get an iso of ubuntu fully updated is by using this application
http://rusher.webhop.org/wordpress/?page_id=473
i would really appreciate if someone could help me out and let me download a iso of ubuntu fully updated
if i am wrong about this application please tell me
