Menu and Networking Issues after Upgrade to Ubuntu 6.06 LTS

Hey!

I've been using Ubuntu for quite a while now, and just recently decided to upgrade to the newest version, "Dapper Drake." First i was having issues with it booting up, because something went wrong with the xorg.conf file. I fixed it by replacing the file with an old backup file that I had kept for safety... but now i have this annoying problem where the applications menu on my gnome panel keeps flickering and stops me from accessing any applications exept for the ones already on the panel. Also, while this menu is on my panel, it consumes over half of my computer's process power.

Also, another problem is that during the transition, something seems to have happened to my ndiswrapper utility configuration - when I type "iwconfig" I'm unable to even see that there is a wlan interface installed. Please help me... any suggestions are welcome. I've been combing the net for solutions, but I'm unable to find much. This upgrade is turning out to be more trouble than I bargained for.

Thanks

i'm having problems with wlan too. it changed the device from wlan0 to eth2.. as for your xorg.conf you may need to reconfigure it for Dapper with
Code:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
hope this helps.
