Maple and Wine

In my studies I often encounter somewhat annoying integrals (read: trivial but time-consuming) and I need to be able to solve them quickly. On the computers at my institute at the university we have Mathematica, Maple and MathLab but I have not managed to get my hands on a Linux license for any of those programs. In the past I have been running the windows version of Maple via Wine which was passable when used sparingly. However, for one reason or another, this new Maple 14 wont work that way. Sometimes it tells me there's a problem with the java virtual machine and sometimes it opens the program, but at those times it's almost impossible to use. If any of you have had luck with this arrangement I'd love to hear from you.

Otherwise, do any of you have an alternative suggestion for a program which can be used to solve integrals? I'd prefer if it's somewhat simple to use and free - or alternatively downloadable for a small fee.

If it's of any relevance, I'm on Ubuntu 10.04

I would have to be at home to check it out for myself, but I was looking at sage math and it looks interesting. They say it's a viable alternative to Maple.

Maybe try Octave. A quick google suggests it can do symbolic integration.
