mandrake 10.1 on USB boot probs

**moved from laptop and handhelds

Hello,

I am new to this forum and so hopefully a mobile Lacie USB drive is included as a mobile device ??...ANyhow..I have partitioned and installed full Mandrake 10.1 on my 80gig Lacie USB drive no probs...However it is having boot problems...I have done some research and I know that most of them say that initrd need to be compiled or something like that with USB support.

Funny thing is when leaving the mandrake disk one in CD drive and booting from USB it seems to works. I do have USB boot support on my Inspiron 8600 and it boots fine to grub. just crashes during boot process. All the forums I have been to say I should use Fedora Core 3 but really want to use Mandrake instead.

Any help or direction as to the correct forum would be much appreciated.

Thanks
