I'm saying that the morons who wrote the installer are to blame for being morons. Writing an installer that puts an application in a place which isn't even supposed to be executable takes a special kind of idiot.

Given that some programs should be installed by root and others not, it would be a good idea if programmers specifed which approach to use in the docs or even as a -?/-h option.
