Major Printing problems

Hi. I have been having some printer problems recently. The other day I tried to print a webpage and all that got printed was a couple of ?? and it tried to do it again, so I switched the printer off.
I then restart the printer and the computer and it starts printing jiberish again. Eventually it stops, after ruining around ten pages of paper. The print job was not showing up in any of the control centre printing jobs for the Epson Stylus C60 printer, yet it was still printing.
Next day I try to print an Ms Word document opened by open office and the same thing happens again. I am using Mandrake 9.1. Could someone please help me, as I have to print some very important documents before Monday. I have tried everything to no avail. I had a similar problem with Gimp but, it seemed to work after I closed many applications

Have you tried a newer or more compatible driver for your Epson? Sounds like it's trying to print, but doesn't know what to make of the characters.

Does not seem to have helped. Installed gimp-print and have wasted loads of ink, a 200 pack of a4 paper and hit the wall enough times to make my hands bleed. I am really close to just throwing the computer and printer out the window.
I will try to calm down. Forget trying to make my printer print properly, I just want to stop it printing sh*t every time I switch it on. I have tried searching everywhere and can not find the print job it is trying to print. Every time I switch on the computer, it prints old tasks that I have already printed, then when I run out of paper and buy more paper, it starts printing ??? rasr235wrfszf. It does not stop no matter how much I waste. I think I will just send the files I want printed to a friend using an ms box and they can print them for me.
Anyway according to what I typed in my earlier post, is gimp-print installed. Please help.
