Loop option in mplayer GUI

Useful as knowing to set the loop option in the config file may be, it avoids answering a much more important question.

Namely, WHAT were the developers thinking when (if?) they didn't make that option available from the GUI since loop is one of the most popular options in a player.

Maybe it is available, so I'm sorry to responding to a seemingly closed question but I don't consider this closed. HOW do you change the loop option from the GUI?

mplayer on its own doesn't have a GUI. What GUI are you using?

With kplayer-

Settings-> Configure KPlayer-> Advanced- additional command Line arguements. Add this (no quotes) "-loop 0"

Just tested it, and it works. There should be similar settings for most/all of the mplayer frontends.

*edit- there is also Player-> Loop. Havent played with it yet.

The posts above have been pruned from http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...mplayer-337507 and moved to their own thread. Please, don't resurrect old posts since things may have changed in the meanwhile (this is especially true for the software forum) and any reference to recent releases may add confusion to the original issue. Thank you in advance for your collaboration.
