logcheck.ignore

I am trying to setup my logcheck.ignore to ignore many of the common entries when the system is booting. I added these entries to my logcheck.ignore file, but it is still sending them in the logcheck results. Is the logcheck.ignore file the only one I should be changing or should I add these entries in logcheck.violations.ignore as well? Thanks in advance for your help.
