live tv on a webpage

Is there any way I can get live tv on a webpage? I can embed using <embed> tag but it can only play .mpg, .mov etc etc. whereas I want to display live tv from my /dev/video.

I can view live tv like

mplayer /dev/video
or
cat /dev/video>test.mpg; mplayer test.mpg

TIA

what kind of scale are you talknig about? if you mean actually serving it, then i'd suggest looking somethign like videolan or helix server. these can output to a file stream that should be playable just fine from mplayerplug-in etc...

Just a small reasonable scale at the corner of my browser. I've got a tuner card and it works great with any software like mythtv and tvtime etc. I want to render the tv output via a web server live.

What exactly is a videolan and helix?
