Listing Directory Size

Is there any way to list the size of directories from the shell prompt?

I have about 200 folders inside /home, and I want to see the size of each one.

Is there any way of doing it?

I tried

ls --size, but that always returns "1" for each directory.

Maybe i could write a shell script... but i don't want to have to do that.
