LIRC 0.6.6 from Mandrake RPM...

Mandrake 10.0 Final, kernel-i686-up-4GB-2.6.3.7mdk

I've installed the LIRC RPM that ships with Mandrake 10, but I can't get it to work. There's not even "/dev/lirc/" after the installation! I edited the config file (etc/sysconfig/lircd), started lircd and tried "mode2" then. All I get is
Code:
mode2: error opening /dev/lirc
mode2: No such file or directory
What am I doing wrong? How did you get it to work?

PS: I'm not having any more luck with the latest CVS source either. But that's a different story.
