LinuxTV.org Radio Software Listing

Hopefully, someone with access to this Wiki will update it as it's quite outdated. Almost all of the listed software doesn't work with V4L2 with the possible exception of mplayer. Anyway, most distributions today use v4l2-ctl which works just fine with USB TV/Radio tuner cards. Personally, I use the command, v4l2-ctl -d /dev/radio0 -f xxx.x (where xxx.x=FM channel frequency, e.g. 100.0) * Since v4l2-ctl is pretty standard now, it begs for a GUI front-end...

* With most newer USB cards, you'll likely have to manually connect the output from the tuner card to the primary output of your audio card to hear the station, e.g.

sox -r 48000 -t alsa hw:2,0 -t alsa hw:0,0

It looks like LinuxTV.org wiki is a standard MediaWiki install, so after creating an account you should be able to edit the page.
